Dawn Jones

Dawn started her professional career as a nursery nurse back in the 80’s. Her professional journey has seen her in a variety of roles, such as an FE lecturer and as a head of department for Health and Social care and Early Years before moving into, HE lecturing. Her whole career from her earliest days as a nursery nurse has been to be a useful advocate for young children. Dawn’s pedagogical practice and approach are driven by her strong belief in children as strong capable and creative thinkers. Play and access to the outdoor environment cannot be separated and are integral to her pedagogical ethos. Her students are always welly prepared when attending lecturers, as she is a strong believer in practical experiences to make those links to theoretical concepts. Dawn has recently co-written a chapter and has presented research at EECERA 2023. Dawn’s interests focus upon sustainability and its role within early years for both students, teachers and young children, the voice of young children and Infants and post-humanism and its impact upon early years eco-pedagogy.
