Current projects
Astrea Academy Trust project
As part of the Brain-SET Formula training program, the early childhood educators at Astrea primary schools worked closely with Dr Sue Allingham in developing their knowledge around the needs of the developing brain. This consisted of professional and personal development sessions, followed by ongoing coaching and mentoring.
The mentoring provided support to ensure the ongoing authentic implementation of the key concepts and pedagogical requirements of the Brain-SET Environments Formula.
This year long project allowed educators to reflect on their own practice, extend their current skillset, enhance their knowledge and understanding around how children’s brains work and develop their pedagogy and physical spaces.
Education Durham
Strengthening purposeful curriculum design and implementation in early years
The Education Durham Early Years Curriculum Project was established to meet the needs and improve outcomes of schools across the county. It focuses on the process of curriculum design and implementation rather than providing a ‘completed’ curriculum for schools to lift and use. It aims to empower leaders and educators in creating meaningful contexts for progressive teaching and learning across the early years phase.

What is a nanny?
This podcast and article series looks at everything there is to know about being a nanny and why it is a role and term which is so commonly misunderstood. We will explore the various types of nanny roles, the routes to becoming a qualified nanny, what it is like being a nanny and what to look for as a family.
The Fatherhood Project
How can we give fatherhood more prominence in society? What role do fathers play now in current society and how has this shifted? What systemic change is required and how do we make bigger steps towards this?
We will be exploring these questions and more as we discuss the vital role a father plays in a child’s life and how this affects both the child and the mother, and importantly the father.
