Joanne Jones is a specialist speech and language therapist with over 25 years’ experience supporting young children and their families. She is the founder of The Home of Can Do, a neuro affirming approach to communication that focuses on connection, confidence, and understanding the whole child, not just their words. Joanne’s work challenges traditional, milestone driven models of speech and language support, reframing communication as something that grows through relationships, emotional safety, and everyday interactions. She works closely with parents, early years settings, and NHS teams across the UK, supporting children who are late to talk, non-speaking, or finding communication tricky for a wide range of reasons. Through training, programmes, and resources, Joanne empowers adults to notice what children can do, respond with confidence, and create environments where communication feels safe, meaningful, and possible.
